Nurturing Dog

Tina Founder & Owner

Hi. I'm Tina, the founder and owner of Georgia Grooming Academy. My love for dogs has been a lifetime, which led me to open my first dog business in 2011, Bow Wags is a full-service doggy daycare, boarding, and grooming facility. My second vision came to life in 2018 when I opened my second dog business, Spa Wags, a full-service grooming salon. I have since sold both businesses and moved to North Carolina to be closer to my parents. However, both businesses are still thriving and providing an amazing service to our communities.

I never considered getting back into the industry. However, we make plans, and God laughs, right? God has placed some amazing people in my life whom I've had the great pleasure to work alongside and get to know, not only professionally but also personally.

I also discovered, since my stepping back from the industry, that there is a huge dog grooming shortage across the United States. Well-trained, qualified dog groomers are getting harder and harder to find, with more people than ever owning dogs. Mom & Pop salons, like the ones I started, are struggling to find "trained" dog groomers. Today, there are very few options for someone interested in learning this trade. There are a few online trade schools and a few training facilities, but what we've found is that these lack the "meat & potatoes" of learning how to groom. Some had too much bookwork. Some have requirements to bathe dogs for weeks before even learning how to groom them. We want to change that. We want to offer a hands-on approach to Dog Grooming - Grooming 101 if you will. A rapid 4-week course that will teach the important skills necessary and needed to learn this trade successfully. This is what brings me to my next adventure, Georgia Grooming Academy, where we are excited to teach a new approach to the dog grooming industry.

Alexa Training Director

Hey guys! I'm Alexa, and I'm going to be your Georgia Grooming Academy Training Director. I'm beyond excited to have the opportunity to train and work with so many amazing people. My love for dogs has always been my biggest passion in life. I love learning about their behaviors and different personalities and just seeing how amazing they truly are. I got into grooming 10 years ago, and life has been a whirlwind since! All the incredible people and dogs I have met have sincerely changed my life. It's a beautiful feeling when someone trusts you with their fur baby wholeheartedly. Over the years, I have developed some health issues with my hands, and seeing the need for dog groomers, it seemed like the perfect time to start using my powers for good in a different way. I cannot wait to see the talent that comes out of our classes and the GGA family that we are building start to bloom. See you guys there, and don't forget your notebook!

Ashley Coordinator

Hi Everyone!

My name is Ashley. I'm so excited to be a part of the Georgia Grooming Academy team as your GGA Coordinator! I have spent the last 7 years working in customer service, and there's nothing else I'd rather do. I've always loved meeting new people and getting to know my customers on a personal level.

My mama used to get on to me for talking to strangers in the grocery store, but to me, no one is a stranger. People are my passion, and animals bring me so much joy. I love that I can now combine the two. My goal is always to give the best experience, I can and always make people feel comfortable and appreciated. I really look forward to meeting everyone and their furry babies.

Lori Master Groomer

Hello, my name is Lori, and I've been in the pet care industry and grooming for nearly a decade. Over the years, I've worked alongside outstanding professionals in the grooming industry and have been able to curate and improve my grooming skills to bring you the best quality experience and haircut your pet can have. I believe your pet's experience and health should always come first. Although I enjoy working on a wide variety of breeds, I have a soft spot for Doodles, as I own one. My favorite part about grooming is getting to know each pet's individual personality and the way that they prefer to be loved and groomed.
